Get acquainted with the computer and learn basic skills that are used in most computer programs in this three-week course. This is part of our Oasis Connections computer classes.

Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint

With Microsoft PowerPoint you can create presentations that include slides, outlines, speaker's notes and audience handouts. A general knowledge of the Windows and some knowledge of MS Word are recommended. This class is part of our Oasis Computer Skills course.

From catalogs to reservations to address changes, learn how to use your library account. Become acquainted with the many valuable research tools made available through the library web page. Basic computing skills are needed.

Literacy Volunteers of Tucson and the library are offering a free program to adults over the age of 18 who want to learn how to speak, read, and write English. The next series of classes begins Tuesday, September 9, and runs through Friday, December 12.

Registration is open only during the first four classes, and closes September 19. Call 520-594-5390 to register; or to get on a waiting list for the next available series of classes.

Toddler Storytime

Designed for children 18- to 36-months-old. Parents/caregivers and children interact through stories, songs, and rhymes. Stories are kept short to fit the toddlers' short attention spans. Each Toddler storytime is 20 to 30 minutes long.

Stay and Play, Parent Connection / Conección de Padres, Grupo de Juego

A play-based parenting group that gives parents the opportunity to learn through interaction how to promote positive cognitive and emotional development. Bilingual. Children ages 0-5 years.

Preschool / Family Storytime

Designed for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents or caregivers. Stories are longer than the Toddler Storytime and the activities are more complex. Children must be able to sit still for a longer period of time than during Toddler Storytime. Preschool Storytime is 30 to 45 minutes long.

Preschool Storytime

Preschool Storytime is for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents. Activities help children learn colors, numbers, and letters. This program is 30 to 45 minutes. Children must be able to sit for longer periods than during Toddler Storytime.

Babytime

Designed for babies up to 18 months of age. At Storytime, children have an opportunity to do activities that promote development and learning.

Storylines: News Views and Anecdotes

Narrative art tells stories. The stories might appear carved in stone, sewn in tapestries, or drawn in a modern graphic novel. This presentation by the University of Arizona's Museum of Art and Archive of Visual Art explores examples of works from the museum's extensive collection of world-famous masterpieces.
